Digital signage is a continously evolving market. LED signs were once the only item that came to mind when someone heard the term "digital signage". Restaurants, movie theatres, hospitals and retail stores are just a few of the places that the new forms of digital signage are appearing. LCD/Plasma screens with custom software are extremely simple for the end uder to use. Basic programs such as Word, Power Point, Excel, etc in addition to Live news,sports, weather, financial, etc feeds can be quickly and easily displayed. Businesses can customize their messages to maximize its effectiveness. Messages can be programmed to run on specific days, specific times and can be overrided by an emergency message when needed.

It's better to say that LCD/Plasma are still consistently used. However, for me LED is the best for digital signage project. Good for energy saving plus realistic images.
